Shawn Sutherland Only after I received this CD in the mail did I learn that Dave Bowmer studied Guitar Craft with Robert Fripp and Touch Guitar with Trey Gunn.

As a lifetime fan of King Crimson (and Stick Men) it’s no wonder that I appreciate this album. Favorite track: Point Break.

Music celebrating the power & beauty of the Ocean, inspired by Dave’s surfing travels, performed on Chapman Stick and Percussion.

1. Darkest Blue
A message from the ocean urging us to take better care of it, inviting us to follow the example of the Konohiki, the ancient Hawaiian guardians of the ocean.

2. Baie des Trepasses
The darker power of the Ocean reveals itself during winter storms at this wild place at the tip of Brittany.

3. Surf at Sundown
Red light floods the sky as we paddle out in the evening surf at Werri Beach, Australia.

4. Surf Report
In pre-internet days you called a recorded phone message to hear the surf forecast.

5. Night Journey to the Coast
Surfs Up! The surfboards are loaded into the van, we’re driving to the waves through the night.

6. Point Break
The adrenalin rush of big wave surfing, a visit to the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.

7. Tidal Force
Wave upon wave, oceans embrace the moon. A Zen Poem about the moon’s constant influence on us and our planet, powering our tides.

8. Viva Mundaka
In Autumn, in Euskadi, a very special wave breaks at the mouth of the river Guernica.

9. V Dub
Air-Cooled, Split-Screen, V Dub, Surf Machine. A tribute to classic VW camper vans.

10. West Penwith
Primal energy radiates from this timeless and unspoilt coastline.

11. Crab Island
Catching the ferry boat through wild sea’s to this mysterious island.

12. At the Point of Stillness
Timeless, utter silence.

This CD is dedicated to the memory of my father, John Luther Bowmer.
